An Absolute Gem
5 out of 5 stars
I REALLY enjoyed this one. I rarely start a review giving it all away like that, but before I picked this one up, I hadn’t read anything from Lentzski, which will now change.
The Woman in 3B tells the story of a flight attendant, Alice, who has a work Bingo game she plays every month. This card has different challenges, usually involving passengers in some way – get someone’s number, have a passenger puke on your flight, and spill a drink on a passenger. When a chance encounter with a gorgeous woman, sitting in 3B, derails not only the game but also Alice’s life.
The story was so well written. Lentzski had me on the edge of my seat throughout, wondering, “will they” so many times I thought I’d be tired of the whiplash by the end. But, alas, I was not. The story was near perfect and had me smiling more than not. I liked the dynamic between these two women, and I thought they deserved each other.
Overall, with the addition of the excellent performance by Stefanie Kay, The Woman in 3B was a standout book of 2022 for me. It just made me feel all of the feels while also keeping it lighthearted enough that I didn’t feel sad for longer than a few moments.
