The Wait is Over by Nicole Pyland is a captivating addition as the sixth book in The Holiday series. Pyland masterfully delivers a beautiful romance story that does not disappoint. From the start, it is evident that Pyland had something special in store for Scarlet, and her storyline builds up beautifully throughout the previous books in the series.

One of Pyland’s strengths is her ability to create believable and captivating characters that jump off the pages. Dakota and Scarlet’s slow-burn romance perfectly exemplifies Pyland’s excellent storytelling. The tension, anticipation, and character development are incredibly well-crafted and engaging both leading up to this book and within it.

I appreciated that Pyland addresses the challenges that come with coming out to your family later in life in this story. Scarlet’s panic and worries are relatable and realistic, making the audiobook even more immersive. The Wait Is Over has the perfect balance of romance and emotional depth, with just the right amount of angst. Carolyn Eve’s narration is spot on, making Scarlet’s character come to life in a way that will stay with me for a long time.

Overall, The Wait is Over is a fantastic audiobook that is a testament to Pyland’s storytelling talent. It is an excellent addition to the series, and the title perfectly matches the story’s theme. It is a must-read for anyone who loves a heartwarming and beautifully written romance, especially one about finding love for the first time (even if it’s in your 20s)
