The Best In The Series
4.75 out of 5 stars
The last time I wrote a review (for book two in the series), I talked about how intimidating it was to write one of the first reviews on a platform for the book. I’m doing a similar thing here.
Going three books into a series – I’ve obviously enjoyed them all. Each book has added something more while also building on the things North introduced in the first two books. In The Collapse of Reality, North really steps it up a notch. An absolutely blast of a book. And one that I flew through, even given its 12+ hour length. North did a good job writing characters, events, situations, and worlds that were interesting and made me want to read more.
I thought that this book was probably the best in the series. North keeps getting better as an author, and his work really starts to shine about halfway through book two and all throughout The Collapse of Reality.
North’s character-building is likely the best part of these stories. He created characters that I just wanted to do well, which is awesome because that doesn’t always happen in epic stories like this one. Sometimes the characters take a back seat to the action or the world – but they are on full display here.
Overall, I thought, combined with the performance from Scott Fleming, Search for the Eminent: The Collapse of Reality was the best in the series. A blast from beginning to end.
