Kaiju: The word “Kaiju” is a Japanese word that literally translates to “strange beast,” but is often translated in English as “monster.” Kaiju may refer to any bizarre creature…
Here are my top five Kaiju audiobooks.
This weeks post is a collaboration of an idea with Sci-Fi and Scary.
Check out their post where they talk about the best Kaiju books and movies.

The Yeti by Rick Chesler and Jack Douglas
Yetis are Kaiju’s, right? Well, either way, this was a monster-themed story that was a blast from beginning to end.

Pacific Rising by John W. Dennehy
This story captures my attention quickly and held it for the whole thing. Dennehy’s first foray into Kaiju’s but I don’t know if it’ll be his last.

Hotel Megalodon by Rick Chesler
I don’t want to ruin this one but I read this one two years ago and still think about it from time to time.

Mega (Series) by Jake Bible
See a theme here yet? I’ve read the first two in this series and own the other two.

Meg (Series) by Steve Alten
The one that started me down my large monster/Kaiju/giant shark book frenzy. Steve Alten is a great storyteller who weaves stories about terrifying creatures.
