Tea Leaves and Tourniquets

Tea Leaves and Tourniquets

Where Soulmates Meet Science and Spark

5 out of 5 stars

There’s something special about watching two opposites fall in love, and Tea Leaves & Tourniquets captures that magic with charm, heat, and heart. I was immediately drawn to Jaye and Charlie’s dynamic. Jaye is creative, open-hearted, and a little whimsical, while Charlie is the cool, guarded doctor who has science down to a T but struggles with emotions. Together, they’re the kind of couple that makes you believe in balance. Not just romantically, but in life.

The way Sienna Waters weaves anxiety and mental health into Charlie’s story felt incredibly authentic. Charlie’s struggles were never minimized, and I loved how the narrative acknowledged how a loving, supportive partner can make all the difference. Jaye doesn’t “fix” Charlie; she offers steady companionship, patience, and a reason to believe. And Charlie, in turn, helps Jaye rediscover her passions and creative expression. It’s one of those beautiful instances where they feel “right” for each other early on.

Beyond the heartfelt moments, this book isn’t afraid to bring the heat. There’s steamy workplace tension, the good old “friends with benefits” trope (with all the inevitable feelings), and the undeniable thrill of breaking all the “we shouldn’t be doing this” rules. But what really stood out to me? The honesty. These two don’t just fall in love—they work for it. There are emotional roadblocks, moments of miscommunication, and the very real truth that love needs more than chemistry to thrive.

Anna Fox delivers a lovely performance. She keeps the story grounded with a soft and soothing narration that comes alive during both the quiet, vulnerable moments and the heated back-and-forths. She perfectly brings out Jaye’s dreamy optimism and Charlie’s guarded logic.

All in all, Tea Leaves & Tourniquets hit every mark for me. Sweet, spicy, deeply emotional, and refreshingly grown-up—this is the kind of romance that lingers like the perfect cup of tea.

Book Description:

Tea Leaves and Tourniquets

Can a cup of tea predict true love?

When Jaye Callaghan’s dubiously clairvoyant best friend predicts that her soulmate is on the horizon, Jaye isn’t exactly persuaded. But when she walks into Lanport clinic and meets Charlie, she starts to think that maybe her luck is changing.

Charlie Riley is a machine. Or she was. A top rated ER doctor with a mind like a trap, she shouldn’t be doctoring in a small ocean-front resort town. She’s mysterious, cold, and very, very sexy.

This is supposed to be a match made in heaven, but there’s a problem. Charlie doesn’t believe in soulmates. Or clairvoyants. Or love.

It’s up to Jaye to persuade the ice-queen doctor that not only is love real, but that her soulmate is standing right in front of her. But as the stakes rise and the attraction between the two women grows hotter Jaye’s faith in romance is shattered. Can Charlie help her put it back together?

Believing in true love is hard, but maybe, just sometimes, it’s enough to have someone else believe for you.
